"Australia"

We had the opportunity to go out with my parents and Boyd's parents last night to the movie "Australia". It was so much fun. We hadn't been to a movie in awhile and it was fun to go with both of our parents. I really thought the movie was very good. It had a wonderful love story and kept you on your toes the whole time. I really recommend it!! It helps that Hugh Jackman is in it...hmmm....he is pretty good looking, I have to admit!!! Thanks Emily for the recommendation!!!

What a dilemma...

We have quite the dilemma going on in our home. All Megan wants for her birthday is a dog! Which posed a huge problem! I won't allow dogs in our home, and Boyd won't allow a dogs in our yard...the yard is his baby...he fusses over it more than he fusses over me! Anyhow, she has been begging for a dog for awhile now, and she wants one so bad for her birthday. Well, I keep telling her that she is not getting a dog for her birthday, but man it makes me feel really bad! The other day she said something so funny. We were driving in the car and she said, "Mom, I need to talk to you about something. Lately, I just feel like something is missing in my life. I don't know what it is, but I just feel weird, like something is missing." Well, I thought it would be something serious, things were running through my head, like something gospel related, another sibling we were suppose to have. I was a little bit taken back by the comment. I said, "Like what, you have to help me here, I don't have any idea what it could be." Then she said, "I don't know, something is definitely missing, something kinda like a dog or something I think!" I just started laughing. She is 6 years old, and comes up with the funniest things. I then told her, "No Megan, we can't get a dog." So what do I do, just keep breaking her heart forever...it is all she talks about! I guess we really are horrible parents!!!!

My baby Brookey!!!

I am still waiting to get our camera fixed! I am going crazy...so I got to looking through some old pictures. I found so many cute pictures of the kids! We have a ton of Brooke...she's the baby...what can it say!! I had to post some of her. She is just so cute to me! She has such a cute little personality to go with her little cute face. We have enjoyed having her in our family so much. Micah and Megan just love her too...they spoil her as bad as I do!!!!

I love a good deal!!!

Me and Megan went shopping over to Penny's yesterday, and we happened onto a great sale. They were having buy one clearance item and get another free! The clearance items are so cheap!! We bought 2 sweaters, a High school musical sweat suit, 3 long sleeve shirts, 2 short sleeve shirts, 2 Hannah Montana bracelets, and 2 High school musical bracelets...all for under $30. I was so excited because Megan's birthday is coming up and we really needed to get some clothes for her. I love Penny's sales...they are the best! I don't know when the sale ends, but I suggest you go and check it out before all the good stuff is gone!!

The perfect snow day!!!

I had no idea that it snowed this morning, until I went to walk Megan out to the bus. It was so beautiful! It was just getting light outside, and big snow flakes were falling to the ground. The snow was crunching under my feet as we walked to the bus stop. Usually, I make a mad dash to get back in the house when she gets on the bus, but this morning was so beautiful I didn't want to go in. It wasn't even that cold...like all the other mornings. It was the perfect snow morning...the kind you see on the movies! Anyhow, I enjoyed it, and thought it was worth sharing. It was the perfect morning for a perfect day! I just know something wonderful is going to happen today...ha ha!

Boyd and gas....they come hand in hand!!

Last night in bed, Boyd told me the funniest story. I started giggling, and couldn't quit forever! Well, yesterday, Boyd went on a business trip in his bosses truck to Logan. He was sitting in the middle of two other guys in the back seat and then there were two other guys in the front. Anyway, Boyd fell asleep and woke up to himself farting. He said it must of been a really long fart because he was dreaming about it and it woke him up, and he was still doing it! He said all the guys in the truck were laughing so hard at him. They all rolled down the windows...Boyd was so embarrassed! The funny thing is, is that I can picture the whole thing. Boyd told the story so funny! He is such a hoot to have around...and I'm sure he will be thrilled that I'm blogging about it! I just thought it make make someone elses day! It sure has given me something to chuckle about!!

The potty training saga....

Micah is 4 years old and is still having accidents during the day. We have tried everything to get him to stop playing with his toys and go to the bathroom. We have grounded him from all of his toys, video games, made him stay home from fun things, put soap in his mouth, we have tried charts, and on and on and on!!! Nothing is working. He will go to kindergarten next year, and I can't have him peeing his pants at school. So, yesterday Boyd said if he peed his pants again he would give him a cold shower. Well, Micah had an accident, so Boyd put him in the shower and sprayed him down with ice cold water. I don't know who cried harder, me or him! I bawled my eyes out. He was screaming and looking at me with those eyes...like why aren't you helping me! After he got out and I warmed him up he promised me he wouldn't put me though that again. Let's hope it actually works! If it doesn't work, I don't know what will! Anyway, if you have any suggestions, I am open to anything!

Catching up

I am so upset, because my digital camera isn't working right now...hence no posts lately. I don't know what is the matter with it, but it isn't working at all. I am so upset, because the camera is not very old. Anyway, I will try and post what is happening in our lives regardless of the camera situation. My family is coming Friday through Saturday. The girls are going on a girls day out Saturday...with out kids!!! I am really excited. So we have that to look forward to. Also, Boyd's Grandpa passed away this week. His funeral is on Friday, so we will get to see his family...one good thing about funerals. Other than that we have just been trudging away at life. Megan and Micah have been at each others throats...like always, which makes me crazy. That's life, I know. But they have said some really cute things lately. On Sundays we don't let the kids watch TV or play computer or video games, which makes them really not look forward to Sundays. Anyway, last Sunday Micah was asking if he could play video games, computer games, or watch TV, and I told him no. He got a funny look on his face, then asked, "Well can I at least play a Jesus computer game then?" I thought that was so funny! Then I was talking to Megan last night and I was asking her about her friends, and who she plays with. I asked her if she was popular...not that it really matters, more curiouse what she would say but, I wasn't expecting this. She rolled her eyes and said, "Oh mom, yes, I am sooooo popular. All of the kids just all want to play with me. " I then said, "Well, isn't that good?" She responded, "NO, it get's so annoying. They all follow me all over on recess wanting to play with me, I don't know what to do!" I had to chuckle, I didn't know being popular was such an annoyance. I guess I have a thing or two to learn about being a child. Since it was forever since I was one! :)

A New Year

Every January I try and set some goals for the New Year. I think it is so important to always try and challenge ourselves to become better. I am always up for a challenge, but also I know you have to set reasonable goals or they most likely won't ever get accomplished. So this year I have tried to come up with some reachable goals that I think will be obtainable. They are as follows:
1. Attend temple every month
2. Exercise daily (except weekends-I always need a break)
3. Stay within budget every month ( Yikes!)
4. Do a painting

I hope at the end of the year I can say these goals have been met. I am hoping for a great year this year. The year 2008 had some definite trying times as well as humbling and a lot of joyful times. All in all, it was an interesting year!!!

Catching up

Well, I have gotten very behind on my blogging lately. I have had Boyd home for two straight weeks of vacation, and I didn't get very much done! Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it, I was just out of my ordinary routine. We had a very fun holiday. We were able to spend a lot of time together as a family, and also had a lot of time with extended family, and friends. Our Christmas was wonderful, and Santa did find my kids! We have been very blessed this year. We also were able to celebrate our 8th anniversary this year on the 4th of January. I can't believe it has been 8 years already. We watched our wedding video on our anniversary, and I was amazed at how young we looked! I can't be getting that old!!! Anyway, here are a few pictures of the holiday!
