Off we go!!!

Well, tomorrow we are off on our big adventure. We leave on Friday and are staying in Utah at my sister's house, then we fly out for Florida on Saturday morning. Then our cruise is Sunday through the next Sunday. So we will not be home until Monday, December 1st. I am so excited! This will be so fun. I am going to miss my kids so much though. It will be so interesting to see how they do! I hope they do good. Anyway, I will post our pictures when we get back! Adios!

Micah's machine hand

Last night we were talking about what preparations we will have to make before we go on the cruise, and we were talking about leaving the medical cards with my sister and mother just in case they needed to take the kids to the doctor. Well, the kids were asking why we needed to do this, and Boyd told them that they needed the medical cards if they broke their arm or something of that nature. Well, we went on talking about something else, and several minutes later Micah came up and whispered in my ear, "Mom when I break my arm off, can I have a machine arm?" I laughed so hard, because Micah is so into Star Wars, I knew exactly what he was thinking of. He always wants a machine hand like Anikan Skywalker. So we did our best making him feel like he has a machine hand, by covering it with stickers. He thought it was pretty cool. I would rather do that, than have him break his arm off so he can have a machine arm!

I am going private!

I have been feeling a little anxious about my blog being out there for everyone to see. So I decided to go private. So leave me a comment with your email and I will send you an invitation to continue seeing my blog. Sorry about the hassle, but you never know who is looking!

"After pictures" of the basement

Here are some after pictures of the downstairs. I haven't finished painting the doors, but everything else is pretty much done, other than a few decorating things I would like to do! :)

"Before" pictures of the basement

These are pictures of the basement before we redid it, and during the process of.

My naughty children

This morning before I got into the shower, I put Brooke in her highchair with some cereal and Micah was sitting at the bar watching cartoons. Well, when I got out of the shower, I came out and found this! Brooke had climbed out of her highchair and onto the counter and Micah had followed her naughty example. Scary! I felt sick when I saw Brooke sitting right there. She could have so easily fallen off. I guess I can't take a shower anymore! I will just have to stink all the time! :)

Getting ready for our cruise!

Well, we only have 6 days until we are going to Mexico!!! I am so excited! We are going on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean! We leave this friday. I can't believe it is almost here. We aren't taking the kids, so I am a little stressed about that. It will be a good second honeymoon for Boyd and I, but I will be away from my kids for 8 days. I have never been away from them longer than 1 day. My Mom and sister are going to take the challenge off watching them for us. (Good luck!). I am so nervous because Brooke is such a mommy's girl. I am going to have a hard time relaxing, but I think I will manage somehow. We have been planning this for a while and it is finally here. I can't believe we are really going to do this. Boyd served his mission over there so he is really looking forward to visiting the mission. It will be a different Thanksgiving! Watch out Mexico, here we come!!! HORRAY!

update on the wallpaper feasco (I don't know how to spell)

Well, good news! The people who lived here before us put the wall paper directly onto the sheet rock, making it impossible to ever get it off. So I called Columbia paint yesterday, and they told me to prime over the wallpaper, then texture, then paint! I am so excited that I don't have to rip any paper off! I am sort of glad that the people here before us were lazy, it actually came in handy this time! Anyway, I have almost primed everything, and Boyd is going to texture tomorrow. So hopefully I can have it all painted by early next week. We will see, things never go as smoothly as expected, but we will see! I am so excited! (I get way too excited over dumb things, I know, but it sure makes it fun!)

Getting rid of my ugly wallpaper!

Well ,I have finally convinced my husband to redo our basement. It is covered in ugly wallpaper...curse the days of wallpaper. Anyway, I told him that I would do everything if he just textured the walls after I pull all the wallpaper off. Well, I tried to start yesterday, but it was not going as good as I planned. The people who put the wallpaper up, put it directly on the sheet rock, so it does not want to come off. I spent about an hour, scraping about a centimeter of paper off at a time! It is kind of funny I guess, since I have a ton more to do. I think I will go into a paint store and see what they have to suggest. If anyone has any suggestions, It would be very appreciated. Here is what I accomplished yesterday! I know it sucks, but I am still so excited to redo it! I have been wanting this done since we moved in!

What a perfect night to have Halloween! It was such perfect weather. It was actually enjoyable to take the kids out trick or treating. They were so cute. We had to laugh at Brooke. She figured out what it was all about really fast...CANDY! She got more candy than anyone else, partly because she would take more, and partly because everyone thought she was so cute they would load her down. The next morning she went grabbed her pumpkin and stood at the door saying, "treat, please." She was ready to go again! It was a fun night, and a lot of memories were made!
